Courses

Here is a listing of the courses we currently offer for continuing education credit. As courses become available, they will be added to this page.

Each listing shows the name of the course, a general overview of what the course covers, and the amount of credit available with satisfactory completion (i.e. 70% or better on the exam).

Courses can be purchased individually through paypal once you become a member (free members can purchase individual courses). If you have purchased an annual membership, there is no extra fee for any of the courses we offer on these pages. To purchase a course, click on "sign up" above if you are NOT a member. EKG Recognition
This two hour course covers the basics of lead 2 EKG interpretation, including the major types of dysrhythmias that are routinely seen. This course is worth 2 hours of continuing education credit.
12 Lead ECG Basics
This course covers the basics of how to read a 12 lead ECG. It builds upon the basics learned in the basic ECG recognition course and expands the information to the 12 lead tracing.
ESI/Triage
ESI is a traige level system that is used by meny emergency departments to assist in triaging patients into correct categories of care. This one credit hour course gives an overview of the current system.
Pneumonia/Bronchitis
Pneumonia and bronchitis comprise two of the most important respiratory problems taht nurses can deal with. This one credit course offers an overview of both of these problems and general methods of treatment of them.
Dysrhythmia Medications
There are numerous classes and types of dysrhythmia medicatoisn that can be given. Some are utilized in emergenct situations, others for long term therapy. This one credit course covers the major medications used for cardiac dysrhythmia care in bth the critical and long term care settings.
Oxygen Therapy
There are positives and negatives to all medications, and oxygen has them too. This one credit course gives an overview of oxygen delivery from a simple cannula through mechanical respirators.
Arterial Blood Gases
Arterial blood gas interprettion is one of the most vexing skills at almost any level. This overview course gives you the basics of what an ABG report shows and how to interpret the results.
Patient Assessment
Patient assessment is probably the single most important skill one can learn in medicine/nursing. Without good assessment skills, the practitioner can not properly treat a patient. This overview course gives you the needed infomation to properly and sytematically assess your patients.
Carbon Monoxide poisoning
Carbon Monoxide is a colorless and tasteless gas that is given off by many common appliances, including automobiles. A person subjected to even small amounts of this substance inthe atmosphere will exhibit specific signs and symptoms. This one hour course gives you the basics of what to look for and how to treat someone who has been exposed to carbon monoxide.
Shock
The short definition of shock is inadequate tissue perfussion. This condition is what everyone (eventually) dies from. But do you know the types or classifications of shock? This course gives you a better understanding of this condition, how and when it occurs, and how to treat it.
